This is a 1-quart bottle which, when placed into the acid side, reduces the amount of acid wastewater by 1 quart.
If you want to reduce the amount of acid waste water you throw out, a 1-quart volume-reducing insert is available.
Fill the insert with (acid) water so it will sink, and put it into the acid-side before filling the ionizer;
its sole purpose is to take up space so less of your expensive water will be thrown out.
It will save you 1/4 of the gallon, more if you only fill the ionizer up half way.
Use your own bottle if you like, but be sure it has no metal parts.
